There was just no specific need that Actively addressed

• Founders of Coachletic pivoted away from its original idea, and created Actively, a curated collection of fun group experiences.
• By mid-summer, Actively tried to gain early tractions, and they organized public events, just to prove demand and generate interest, but by the end of summer, their business was slow and did not have any consistent growth.
• Then, they started to test other theories, and went to offer vendors and thought the need on the vendor side was clear.
• However, they could not figure out how to market and who would book them. Then, Actively decided to change the model and plan the events and make it into a club, which vendors could set up their own events.
• Between September and December, they met over 250, and ran more than 20 events, and processed over $20,000.
• They stated each of the activities that they held was unique, and they weren't serving any one particular type of person.
• As a result, there were no specific need to address, which made marketing very difficult for them, and they admitted that making Actively a club did not make any sense anymore.
• For Actively, there was a last attempt on testing another idea, which was getting group bookings instead of solo attendees and with new models, they considered targeting birthday parties, random groups, travelers and corporate teams.
• But, unfortunately, it turned out that most companies were not interested in that version of Actively. Some wanted different activities and some needed hands-on event for cheap or free.
• And, again, there was just no specific need that Actively addressed and in the end, the new direction did not save the company and they had to shut down.
